Quite a few of you have written me telling me that you’re having a hard time finding a pumpkin pie spice that is reasonably priced, organic or doesn’t have anti-caking ingredients (like silicon dioxide).
I’m here to help – well actually my 10 year old is here to help! I may have been overheard lamenting something like:
‘why isn’t pumpkin pie spice more readily available and why does it only come in large bags or jars?
He looked at me and said “mom, why don’t you just make your own?” An ah-ha moment thanks to my kiddo! DUH! So, I got to experimenting and testing!
After many, many tweaks, I have put together an amazing Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice blend that won’t break the bank and uses spices that you probably already have! Go on and whip this up and store it with your spices so that you can make this Chai Pumpkin Spice Latte or these Pumpkin Spice Cookies whenever the whim strikes!
- 3 tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1 tsp Ground Cloves
- 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg *omit if AIP
- Sift all the spices together through a mini strainer to get out any lumps.
- Store in an airtight jar with your spices.
