During flu season I’m like a little granny, or at least that’s what my own granny calls me. Why, you ask? Because one of my go-to preventatives and cold/flu treatments is chicken stock. I seriously make a HUGE batch every week which is exactly what my granny used to do!

I love DIY syrups especially because I’m in charge of the ingredients and I have no shortage of recipes to get you started! Mama Rosemary has a recipe for Spiced Berry Immunity Syrup that is safe for children, as is this simple Elderberry Syrup by Happy Mothering. Oh Lardy has Flu Busting Echinacea and Elderberry Syrup and A Happy Healthnut has Homemade Elderberry Syrup that can be taken as a preventative measure.
I love soup any day but there’s just something about a warm bowl when you’re under the weather. You really can’t go wrong with any soup that includes bone broth when aiming to boost your immune system. That’s why I really love these soups (sure, I created them but they really are delish-promise!): Sprouted Lentil and Coconut Curry, Bacon Potato Leek, Easy Black Bean.
